Tucos Factory is a Paraguayan social enterprise based in Filadelfia in the Chaco region. It specialises in producing food from wild native fruits such as algarrobo, mistol, molle negro, kinoto, meloncito, tuna and rosella. The company produces flour, syrups, jams, ground chilli and merquén, a local spicy condiment.
The company was founded as part of the project ‘Women of the Chaco Network: Our Forest, Our Knowledge and Our Future in Our Hands.’ It empowers around 70 indigenous women from the Nivaclé and Guaraní Ñandeva communities, offering them fair employment opportunities and promoting the sustainable use of local natural resources.
